The HealthData@MAD-R&I® project has been awarded an Áccesit in the category “Experiences of Professionals” at the 11th SEMERGEN Congress on Chronic Patients, organized by the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (SEMERGEN). The congress was held on June 26 and 27 at the Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in Madrid.
Under the slogan “Active collaboration, positive health”, the event brought together health professionals, patients, family members and associations with the aim of sharing knowledge, experiences and strategies to improve care for people with chronic diseases and consolidating itself as a space for dialogue, learning and shared visibility.
Chronic patient care, in a context of constant change and evolution, requires a global perspective that integrates health, innovation, research and, above all, the active voice of the patients themselves. In this context, HealthData@MAD-R&I® was recognized for its innovative contribution to the use of secondary health data for research and improvement of healthcare quality.
Data scientist Ainhoa Caballero Cardenete, a member of the project, was in charge of presenting the initiative during the Experience Table, where she explained the objectives of the project and detailed the four use cases on which it is based. His intervention was widely appreciated by the audience and the organization, highlighting the transformative potential of the project in the field of chronic care.
This award highlights the relevance of proposals that integrate data science, applied research and technological innovation in the service of public health.
